The Ultimate UGG Buyer’s Guide and Care Guide

The UGG boot is arguably one of the most iconic pieces of footwear of the last decade. Spotted on celebrities, bloggers and the girl-next-door, the UGG boot is the epitome of luxe-casual. Made from beautifully supple suede with a fleecy, sheepskin lining, UGG boots are the perfect everyday shoe. However, like everything made from plush, soft materials, your UGG boots need some TLC every once in a while to keep them looking box-fresh.

The Hut answers the most frequently asked questions surrounding UGGs and how to care for them…

How to clean your UGG boots

Many people ask whether you can wash your ugg boots and about how you can clean them at home… and all these kinds of questions are answered with the UGG Care Kit. It contains a  Sheepskin Cleaner & Conditioner, Sheepskin Protector, Sheepskin Freshener Spray, and a Suede Brush and Scuff Eraser.

Discover how to use these products below…

Sheepskin Cleaner & Conditioner

Using a wet sponge, lightly dampen your UGG boots; add a small amount of the Sheepskin Cleaner & Conditioner to the same sponge, and dab onto the fabric. This Cleaner is multipurpose – not only removing dirt and unsightly residue from the sheepskin, the Cleaner conditions the fabric to keep the suede soft and supple.

Sheepskin Protector

There’s nothing worse than accidental stains spoiling the aesthetic of your UGGs, so make sure to use the Sheepskin Protector on your boots. This Protector is specially formulated to create a protective barrier around the sheepskin, keeping your suede boots stain-free.

Sheepskin Freshener

Keep your sheepskin lining fresh as a daisy with the Sheepskin Freshener; simply spritz inside your boots to keep any odours at bay. Make sure to leave your UGG boots to dry for 24 hours after spraying – nobody wants damp toes…

Suede Brush and Scuff Eraser

If your UGG boots are looking a little tired, give them some loving with the Suede Brush and Scuff Eraser. Simply brush the fibres of the boots in one direction to ensure a uniform, sleek and soft look.

Do UGG just make sheepskin boots?

No! UGG offer some great styles including chelesa boots, trainers, snow boots and more from both men and women!

How should UGG slippers fit?

UGG are also heavily renowned for their iconic slippers and like their boots, they are supposed to fit well and snug to your foot. Slippers with a heeled back should be easy to put on and remove and your toes should almost be touching the end but not too loose that they fall off as you walk. For slippers without a back, they should surround the front end of your foot so well that when walking,  no effort is needed to keep them in place.
